The museum was pretty full, from all the mom's who needed to get their time's worth out of standing in line for over an hour! And since this was my first non-Dr., non-grocery shopping adventure into public I was a little overwhelmed, but Kaiden was a good boy. Although I do have to say, and I know 'stuff happens' but PLEASE, I BEG you, even IF the ticket's are free, DON'T take your coughing, sneezing, snot running everywhere kid out in public, I mean come on people! OK rant over. Since I had Pierce snuggled in the back of the double stroller with a light blanket pulled up around his face so he could be somewhat shielded from any germs, I felt he was pretty safe which left me to focus on where and what Kaiden was doing. We stayed in the front few exhibits most of the time. Mel & Ash kind of did their own thing and they were with her other friend and her little girl so we were kind of on our own for a while, which was nice. Kaiden enjoyed the water fishing tables, although he didn't get that he was supposed to 'fish' with the pole. Rather he thought the game was to smack the water as hard a possible to make the biggest splash, the parents and kids immediately surrounding us really liked his version of the game.
After spending some time at the water feature, he enjoyed climbing the rope ladder and coming down the slide and then luckily for me and Pierce this second play area was near the only calm, dark, quiet corner in the whole place so we took a quick time out to nurse and do diaper changes, then Mel and I decided we would take a look around to see if there was anything else we felt compelled to do and then head out.
Fountain Fun In The Park
Since we were already down there, and we had both packed swim suits and towels we decided 'what the heck' we would go back over to the park and let the kiddos run around in the fountains for a little bit before heading home. When we first got there they were telling everyone to get out of the fountains because they were doing maintenance on them, so we sat on the side and watched the water jump around to the sound "Circle of Life" from Lion King - LOVE that song so it was a treat to see this. Then once the guy was finished and walked away to do something else the security guards turned their backs for a while on the fountains, which we took as our opportunity to let the kids have some fun. I got some pretty cute video that I'll work on uploading, Kaiden and Ashlyn had a blasty blast and Aunt Mel had even more fun!
Although the sun was warm bordering on hot the breeze and the water were both pretty cool, so it wasn't long before both our little cuties were shivering. So we decided to put them back into dry clothes and head across the plaza for some treats, we figured that we all deserved a quick break before heading home. You Know It Was A Good Day. . . .
. . . when both boys are passed out before you finish loading the car!
