Kaiden's One Year Check Up

And Stats. . . .

So Kaiden had his One Year Well Baby check up on Monday, and thankfully Daddy was able to come with us. I HATE when they give him the shots, it breaks my heart every time, so Daddy was there this time to help which made it easier for both me and Kaiden!

STATS

I am SO happy to report that for the FIRST time EVER Kaiden actually made it on ALL 3 charts!!!

The Head - Well pretty much since birth his head measurement has been closest to the charts but this time he was in the 50th% with a measurement of 47.5 cm

The Height - Kaiden is proudly in the 10th% for height measuring in at 28.5 inches - that is almost a foot of growth since birth!

The Weight - He's always been a little low on this - but you have to remember he was a 5lb 12oz baby and he has more than tripled his birth weight - Kaiden made it to the 5th% for weight weighing in at 19lb 2oz!!! Yippie I am SO proud!

Other Kaiden'isms/Milestones

Clothes - he snugly fits into 9 month onsies - I bet within a week or two we'll be moving him up to 9-12 month onsies - which will probably be a bit big at first but like everything (eventually) he'll grow into them. Of course in separates he still has a few 3-6 month shirt and short outfits that fit, but for the most part he wears 6-9 month separates.

Toys - Besides his "tu-tle" mylar balloon, which is getting close to being deflated his other favorites are his Mickey plane, the school house tent, and his aquarium which he got from Sashi for his birthday.

Books - Kaiden is CRAZY about his DOG book by Matthew Van Fleet - it is a fuzzy, pop up interactive book which he is NUTS about! Also pretty much any book that has a surprise like the fold-a-flap books or he is starting to get into the books with the noise machine attached (Thanks Gretch for that Thomas the Train Book!)

Food - Thankfully he is to that stage where pretty much he can eat anything off our plates, which is SO great! He LOVES pickles (kosher dill), my spaghetti, cheese and garlic bread - and he also rather enjoys sharing a few sips of Daddy's grape kool-aid! He is starting to like his whole milk more and more each day. . .

Daily Routines - I would say I am blessed - Kaiden LOVES his sleep! He usually sleeps about 10.5 - 11.5 hours each night and then takes two 2 hour naps each day! Hallelujah! Besides eating and when Daddy gets home, his favorite part of the daily routine is taking a bath! This kid is NUTS! He will lay down in the water - I have NEVER seen a baby do it before - of course he is my first and when not being mellow of course he sees just how wet he can get the entire bathroom before making his exit!

Walking/Running - So it wasn't long from the tottering stage to the sprinting stage - but it is so fun to watch him go! The funniest part is now he wants to walk/run to pick up a toy in one hand, grab a balloon string with the other and then chase the dog/cat or parent that is nearest! He's a goof!
