Photo Friday

Sweet Summertime!

Photo Shoot

I realized, in a slight panic/horror that other than a few iphone photos I hadn't taken ONE picture of my sweet boys through the entire month of June while I was dealing with my scariest bleeding/bedrest issues.  SO I had a little impromptu photo shoot one Friday morning!  NOT to mention they have both changed SO much since last summer - I swear if it weren't for pictures and videos you would forget how they change overnight into BIG BOYS!!
July 4, 2011

NOT Our Most Dazzling 4th On Record!

In theory I'd like to say we had one of those magazine perfect 4th of July celebrations right down to our matching T-shirts, with color coordinated food, plates and decorations.  And the evening was capped off by the most spectacular fireworks display you can imagine.  But, um yeah, this is the REAL world and that is NOT what happened!!

Sometimes Reality Bites!
Instead we stayed inside the majority of the day, and in our PJs almost ALL DAY!!  As luck would have it, they were up late the night before and were up early that morning - HOW is it kids always get this order messed up - it should be late to bed, late to rise - BUT regardless we were now housing two rather cranky wee ones, and I was dealing with a bout of wicked nausea - it was ROUGH!  So for the better part of the day we hung out inside watching an all day marathon of Cake Boss!  There was a neighborhood pool party, but it was smack in the middle of the day from 12-3, and if we went to the pool while they were setting up, Kaiden would want to stay for the 'party' which would mean no nap which was OUT OF THE QUESTION, thanks to them already being cranky.  So we thought we would hit up the pool after naps.  Well as luck would have it, the skies were pretty overcast with rumbles of thunder which means a NO GO for the pool.

So we spent the day catching up on R&R - well OK DAVE caught up on R&R my quota has been FILLED for a while courtesy of the previous 7 weeks, but the nausea made doing much of anything a challenge - I'm telling you anything makes me gag when I'm like this - looking down, looking up, the boy's hugging my neck, smelling ANYTHING - it's fun for all!  But eventually evening rolled around - and there is a family in our neighborhood who goes BIG for the 4th, and pretty much everyone goes & just brings food to share & the kids have a jump house & snow cone machines, you name it!  Not to mention they put on a FABULOUS fireworks show to cap it all off.  We were considering going to this, but the clouds looked SO threatening & not to mention the percent of rain was creeping towards 100% and Dave and I could only imagine the boys enjoying the bounce house when lightning flashes & we scramble in a wet backyard to pull the boys away from the beloved bounce house - yeah NOT what I wanted to do for a fun evening.

SO - we thought it would be best to go to the city's fireworks display up at Riverstone - we could bring chairs to sit and watch, have some cold drinks & snacks in the cooler & kill time waiting for the show to start.  FIRST there is some great people watching to be had up there (NO judging really just observations - it's like a whole other society around us) and there are a few vendors set up, a radio station has a grand stand going & it's a fun (albeit a little on the 'red' side) atmosphere.  HOWEVER it was POURING when we left the house, but we had hopes that like every other storm this summer, it was merely a pop up storm that would quickly pass and dry up so we were committed to making this happen.

Well we read on the internet - MAN if only the stuff on there were regulated or actually accurate, ha  - that the show was starting at 8:30 and seeing how it was already after 7, we figured we should make our way there and claim our spot - people hang all afternoon in the parking lot - so after making a few passes we found what we though would be a great spot, we angled ourselves in so that the back could be opened & the boys could sit in there while we waited & there would still be room in the spot behind the car for our chairs when the time came.  Here's a few of our 'waiting' photos:

Got the boy's chairs set up in the truck

Kaiden was showing me how much he loves this bear in an effort to save it from the GW pile!

Daddy & Kaiden stepping out into the rain for a photo op & to cool off

I was cold & wet which is why I was wrapped in a towel! Pierce was enjoying the 'sights'

This was just before we decided to pack it up - it was almost 9:00 & he was tired.

As we were killing time hanging in the back of my car, we overheard a lady shouting to another lady - who was apparently in the 'know' that they couldn't shoot off the fireworks until there was at least a 15 minute break between lightning strikes - which there wasn't - and that it had to be barely misting or at least raining less than it was to have successful shoots.  Well after hearing this, the fact that it was after 9:00 and there was NO END IN SIGHT for the storm we decided our best bet was to head home and watch a spectacular fireworks show on TV, where it was dry & the boy's could sleep!!

NOT entirely sure if they are doing the fireworks tonight or not - I'm looking into it, cause talk about an upset little fellow.  Kaiden did NOT like the option of watching via TV instead of in person - but we told him we were disappointed too - I mean, really what IS the 4th without the big boomers?!?!  Hope you had a wonderful 4th with your friends & family & that you got to enjoy your fireworks!

Hot Fun In The Summertime!!

Friends & Family!!

Alright, so as I've recently mentioned, I am in the lead position in this years running for Mom of the Year, and as my effort to solidify my permanency in the front runner position, I did not, I repeat did NOT take a SINGLE picture on any of the following 3 occasions!  Just TRY and beat that, I dare ya!!  All pictures below are courtesy of google image & much more attentive mothers than myself!  Maybe if I sweet talk Mel, I could get a few of the pictures she snapped. . .

Quick Update
So before I launch into full-on recap mode, let me just update that I am VERY hopeful that I am passing out of the 'scary' stage of this pregnancy, I have an appointment tomorrow, and I am hoping that I will have a few restrictions lifted as I haven't had any additional bleeding or any at all for that matter.  And on a much less TMI note, I think I've begun to feel little flutters in there!!  Very different then the knocks and jabs I first felt with the boys, but flutterings I'm feeling all the same!

Friends + Pool = 2 Great Days!!
Since I was feeling confidant in my pregnancy's health and since we hadn't been to the pool in WEEKS, thanks to my bed rest, I decided it was time to get some pool dates set up so we could see the sun & get out some of the boy's pent up energy!  Early in the week Melissa & Ashlyn came over and although Mel & I chat on the phone all the time, I think it's been since Pierce's party in April since we've actually seen each other!  So it was great to let the kids all splash around & spend some time catching up with Mel!  And Ash is quite the little swimmer!!  Which is great cause Kaiden doesn't LOVE going under, so watching his friend have no fear & be in control in the water inspires him to try a little more in the water.  After some time at the pool, a quick run through of the playground we headed to the house for sandwiches & then the boys needed their naps - cause I was running low on steam myself.  Apparently 7 weeks of hardly moving doesn't really get you in top 'fighting' shape! ;o)

Then a few days later two of my other good girlfriends came over with their respective children and we had a repeat of the earlier pool, playground, lunch day.  Of course it was a Thursday when my friends, er I mean the boy's friends were coming over, so I like to sweep the floor just before Pierce's therapist gets here cause they play on the floor, so I'm in the middle of doing this (remember it's the 1st time in 7 weeks, I've swept MY floor ALL by MYSELF!) and I'm thinking, alright this is going pretty great when. . . . in comes Pierce and I SWEAR there was a stench cloud following him, think PigPen from Charlie Brown, and this is when I realized that there had been a breech in the security of his diaper!  UGH, it's ALWAYS when you're trying to quickly get something done that this stuff happens.  So, I abandon sweeping and carry my little toxic waste wearer up to the bath an spend the next 15 minutes or so removing the grossness from him.  OF course as we're finishing up our friends start to arrive, so I told Kaiden to open the door for Ms. Heather & Jack, but he was a little preoccupied with Mario Cart Wii - it had previously been 'misplaced' - hahaha - because I got SO tired of watching/hearing him play it - anyway so in come our friends & here comes a clean but very naked Pierce.  NOW I have to clean up the mess removing the soiled diaper made, rinse off the spoiled PJs AND catch & diaper Pierce - this is very similar to attempting to catch a greased pig!  Shortly there after our other friend Lauren arrived with her son Caden and her newborn Asher, and off we went to the pool.

Well it wasn't quite that quick of a transition, cause we had to change all the boys into their swim gear, get ourselves changed, load back into 3 cars, and have Ms. Chrissy, Pierce's therapist, move out her car so we could all get out.  But after a few minutes we were at the pool.  We were laughing cause between getting there, getting set up, lotioning up the boys and getting ourselve's settled it was time for me to go get Pierce!  But once I returned with him, we did enjoy some quality pool splashing time & then headed home for lunch and some air conditioned catch up time!  So thankful to have such great friends & for them all coming MY way - I am spoiled rotten!

Family Fun Day
Well since tennis isn't exactly on my 'OK to do' list I haven't had any obligations on the weekends which allowed us to have a free Saturday morning, since Dave's team played their match early.  We had heard about this great little park not far from the house that the boy's would just love, so we decided to pack a picnic lunch & head over there for the better part of the day.  We weren't sure what to expect other than I was told 'do NOT go there without Dave'.

Well let me just say as a side note, that this park is REALLY COOL!!  And with the appropriate aged children, you could really enjoy a day of fun there down at the water! But as it were our children were a little on the young side, I was a little on the too pregnant side & the rocks are WAY TOO SLIPPERY to feel at ALL comfortable down at the water!  Thankfully though this park had a pretty great playground and swing set, so Pierce and I pretty much opted for that distraction over the slippery rocks of death down at the swimming hole!  But since Dave had hefted all the picnic gear down there & I wanted to at least see what all the fuss was about Pierce and I headed down to the water for a while after he played on the playground for a while & was drug screaming from the plastic awesomeness that he is addicted to - aka the slides!  Lord that boys LOVES to slide!  So off we go to find these sliding rocks and the water portion of the park -

Well as you can guess it's off the 'beaten' path and there are rather large tree roots mixed in with gravely sandy footing & thrown in for good measure are large slabs of slippery granite, regardless of if they're wet or not!!  So caution was to be taken while navigating JUST the path that lead to the pools where Dave & Kaiden were - yeah, you can imagine how well this went over with Pierce!!  SO - Dave actually landed us a GREAT spot, just off to the side of the largest part of the falls/slide rocks - and it was like a little cove not more than a foot or so deep with three separate slide rocks ranging from sorta steep to rather shallow, nicely shaded from the midday heat & relatively quiet/private.  Luckily I have a pair of those water shoes, and in my attempt to NOT end up in the hospital I had brought them so I did have a little more 'grip' than a bare foot, but not much.  So I walked up the dry path to the top and helped Pierce to navigate the slide rock part, I did NOT feel comfortable letting him slide facing down, for fear he would rear his head back and hit the rocks, so he went down feet first on his belly, which he enjoyed like 3 times, then he was done!  He wanted to try and walk around on the rocks, which is NOT advisable, and Kaiden he did really great, he was very safe and enjoyed sliding at his own pace and they both enjoyed splashing in our little private pool, but only for a while.  Eventually they decided they wanted daddy to take them exploring - Lord help me - I followed behind at my own snail like pace - but am happy to report that NO ONE got hurt!  I swear at one point Dave and I looked at each other and said "WHAT were we thinking?!"  Hahaha, but after our attempt at the picnic by the water - imagine soaking wet, sandy Pierce near food & him only wanting to go splash in the water, it was a struggle to say the least - we packed up all the gear and then Pierce and I returned to the safety of the playground & left Dave and Kaiden to do a little more exploring together sans crazy kid & preggo momma!

It really was a great time, but I don't think we would go back for another several years, I'm thinking 7 & 8 is a better age than 3 & 2!!  BUT if you're ever in the area & up for an adventure you should check it out for yourself!  My advise would be do NOT let your kiddos wear their favorite swim trunks cause they get DIRTY & snagged up, & if you have water shoes, wear em!!
The Kid's Got Heart!!

Pierce's Cardiology Check-Up

Well, let me start by telling you just how much I was looking forward to this appointment (INSERT sarcastic eye roll here!)  I mean seriously a cardiology appointment with a defiant two year old who has not a problem with anything you do to him UNLESS it's attempting to hold him still or in one place for any length of time!  Add to that of course I was traveling with both of my boys so I have a 3.5 year old who doesn't necisarially give a diddly squat about being patient while brother has his bianual test run ~ and HOW could you forget to multiply all that by the fact that I am still on modified bedrest!!  Oh yea, you guessed it - it was an EPIC FAIL in the making!!!

At The Starting Gate
So in some attempt to actually ever get to places on time, I had set out the boys outfits upstairs, and after breakfast I was attempting to get them dressed.  Luckily Kaiden is pretty self sufficient in this area, SO long as you have let him make the final decision on his ensemble, now Pierce could care less what he wears but what he does do is take off - hauling butt - in the opposite direction, laughing and giggling the whole time.  Yeah, he thinks getting dressed is a chase game ~ I have to admit it is kind of hilarious, but ONLY when you are not in a time crunch to load up and drive 30 miles to a doctors appointment!!  And oh yea, thats right, I can't technically 'give chase' so I just set the house alarm, grab his clothes and ambush him in the garage!!  This mom has STILL got it!!  And I will take that victory whenever it comes!!!  Hahaha

The Appointment From Hell
No this is not an exaggeration of a title for dramatic effect - seriously, and I do NOT blame them if they did, but we were that appointment that when we left I am sure they cussed Pierce for being so bad and me for having no control over him.  What's that I hear ~ yet another nomination for Mom Of The Year, why thank you!!!

So being pregnant & on a mission to beat camels in water consumption each day, you can imagine what I had to do once we checked in. . . the receptionist pointed down the hall to the restroom.  So I said "OK boys, come with me, I have to go to the potty (yes, I admit it, a college educated woman saying potty in public, but you gotta play to your audience right?!)"  Kaiden thankfully still playing on the angel team, hopped up from his toy and headed down the hallway in the right direction, Pierce on the other hand attempted to hide is 32 pound body in a magazine basket while kicking and screaming "NO NO NO" ~ and since I am not supposed to carry them, I get to more or less drag him (he was taking reluctant steps, but in NO way being compliant) the 15-20 steps to the restroom while hollering like a chimpanzee who saw someone looking at his bananas.

When we get escorted back to our room, only after the nurse promised Pierce there were more toys back in the room, to which he let out an all too clearly disapproving 'noooooooooo' as he tossed one by one the ten or so toys from the shelf once we were in the room.  Yea, he was a REAL treat!!  SO, since it's a cardiology appointment there are a few standard baseline vitals they need to get, nothing too complicated mind you, just things like a pulse ox reading, pulse rate and blood pressure.  Yup we got ONE crossed off the list before the proverbial shit hit the fan!  Pierce sat on the floor long enough for the girl to put the little finger tip pulse ox reader on, hold it in place for ten (yes ONLY 10 seconds) and that was it ~ Pierce was done.  He was beligerent, saying no screeching "all done!!" and this is when she went for the blood pressure cuff.  The nurse attempted to distract Pierce by offering him a soft block which has a removable square rattle (I am SURE she regretted this choice seconds later!!) She did actually get it around his arm, fastened in place I think she may have even attempted to take a reading but since he was kicking, screaming, red-faced, holding his breath and being an all around delight, we knew that we wouldn't be able to use the results as valid ~ you know you're supposed to sit quietly for the 20 seconds it takes to inflate the cuff and get a reading ~ yeah didn't happen, it was about this time that Pierce removed the square block rattle and slammed it down on the little (think like 95 pounds soaking wet) nurse's wrist, where it immediately formed a purple bump, which I can only assume was her blood vessle bursting open.  I immediately grabbed up Pierce and reprimanded him then did my best to hold him still while a new nurse (can't imagine why the first wouldn't want to stay in the room with the devil child who just bust her wrist up) attempted a second reading.  We were in there attempting to get the blood pressure reading for more than 15 minutes and the doctor and his students came in while Pierce was in full on rage mode (imagine a scene from Swamp People while they're wresteling a gator) Dr. Khan said lets hold off on upsetting him anymore cause we need to get a scan of his heart & I need to take a listen.  SO abort mission on the blood pressure, I am NOT at all ashamed to say I volunteered for them to give him some 'happy juice' or other form of sedative, to which they replied "well we have to at least have his baseline blood pressure before administering those drugs"  HAHAHA damn!

From Bad To Worse
So we leave the room and head up the hall for his scan & EKG - for this they have to use ultrasound machines, watch the flow of blood, both watch and listen to each of the chambers and blood passing through and of course the EKG, well that involves hooking him up with no less than a dozen super sticky electrodes, have him remain still for 5-10 minutes while a consistent rythem is recorded on the print out.  HAHAHAHAHA  yeah that test wasn't even attempted yesterday!  I am not laughing cause I think it's funny that my kid acted like a total ass (although our very sweet doctor assured me that he was not that bad and that all kids have good days and bad days, and that it just wasn't Pierce's day ~ you see why we LOVE this guy?!) but that if you know Pierce, he is normally so laid back, go with the flow, and super silly, but yesterday at the appointment he was anything but that!  Now Andrea, who runs the ultrasound machine is also FABULOUS (everyone at the office is great) but she is SO good at what she does, she has a nice soothing (and foreign) voice which usually helps keep him nice and quiet & they have things for them to look at on the ceiling, and around the room.  As I'm sure you've already guessed, Pierce wasn't falling for any of it yesterday.  NONE of my stand-by tricks worked, even the fact that they gave him a lollipop was a moot point!  Through two of us holding him down, me attempting to lull him into peacefulness by both singing softly in his ear & letting him listen to his favorite Curious George music on my phone we were able to get the scan done & enough good images and sound bites for the doc to actually do a full (or good enough) evaluation on him.

The End Results
I was stressed like you wouldn't believe!!  I had broken a sweat attempting to keep my greased pig, I mean Pierce, calm for a 10 minute scan & 15 minutes worth of attempted blood pressure reading.  And  Kaiden who had been previously persuaded to behave with a piece of lime gum, had since decided that he was DONE with this visit (mind you we were in and out in about an hour) thought that the best way to speed along the remainder of our visit with Dr. Khan was to tell me rather loudly (and OMG SO RUDELY) "Mom, you need to be done talking" and "STOP talking MOM" - Pierce at this point had been distracted by Toy Story 3 on Netflix (SERIOUSLY HOW did Mom's do it before technology & iphones!?) and I think I had started to have an anxiety attack about how much stress this was & hardly heard what he said the results were.  I know he said he though Pierce was looking great. That we would do one more six month check up and then move to annual check ups & something about a slightly leaky valve, but I couldn't remember the details.  I just needed to GET OUT!!  We made it back to the car - I strapped them both in (that is the BEST part about being in the car, of course the trade off there is that you are trapped in a car with one or two screaming/fighting kids) and I drank what was left of my water, thinking this would help cool me down and ward off any complications my certainly elevated blood pressure may be having.  My girlfriend Vickie helped to calm me down some, although Pierce (who I am guessing was exhausted at this point) began screaming, to which my answer was to turn off the air conditioner and roll with the windows down - as much for a distraction as for a white noise (Oops, can't nominate me twice in one post for mom of the year, but thanks for trying!) - whatever it was it worked, Pierce was sound asleep in five minutes flat and once out, Kaiden and I were able to roll the windows up and enjoy peace and A/C!!

Follow Up
After speaking with the Doc on the phone today it was a slightly leaky Mitral Valve, but he said it is not of any real concern at this point and it will in no way restrict what we can let Pierce do!!  So that all sounds good enough for me for now!!
Big News Alert!

We're Expecting Kirk Baby #3 In December!!

We are both very excited!  Well I guess I should say all four of us are excited, although it's a safe bet that Pierce is completely clueless to the impending upheaval, but Kaiden for sure is pumped!!  He has been referring to the baby in there as Tinker Bell since the day we told him & we are hoping his prediction is correct!!  This Momma needs a little estrogen in this testosterone fest!!!

Stats:
Well I'm turning the corner on the second trimester, which is wonderful, I hope!  We are due towards the end of December but since it will be another scheduled c-section it will not be a Christmas Day (eve or day after) baby, but somewhere near there!
So far the baby is doing great!  We passed all the blood work screens/panels, have heard the baby's heart beat on several occassions and got GREAT results from the N/T scan!

But (And It's A BIG FREAKING BUT!!)
I have been dealing with (diagnosed with) SCH - that's Subchorionic Hematoma/Hemorrhage  - basically it means that I am dealing with unpredictable bleeding.  Yeah, it's as fun as it sounds!!  I passed a small clot one Thursday around 9 weeks - luckily got immediately in to the office, they were able to get me back to ultra sound and the baby was fine and there was no distinguishable source for the bleed.
One week later, while sitting with the boys on the porch I felt a gush, and got to spend the remainder of the night and next morning convincing myself everything would be fine regardless of the scary red blood and again I was lucky to both hear and see my beautiful baby in there doing just fine.  The doctors believed that this was a clot formed from when either the sack was digging into place after fertilization OR when the placenta attached.  But they said it was not under the placenta - which is good & that it was not threatening the baby - again GREAT news & that I was just going to have to deal with the remainder of the blood & clots passing.  I am sure this is TOO MUCH INFO - but when you're pregnant brown (or orange, wine color, grey or black) blood & clots are good (well relatively speaking of course, no bleeding would be the preference!!) - bright red & wet = NOT GOOD!  So they sent me on my way told me what to watch for & I was reassured to see exactly that for the next 3 or so weeks.

However, this past Sunday, while making the boys breakfast I went to the restroom - a common occurrence for ANY pregnant woman - but this time (again TMI) I saw a new rather large red clot floating - not a reassuring sight!  But I tried not to freak out too much, not yet anyway, and went back to finishing breakfast.  However very shortly thereafter it was hard to ignore the bleeding which was now bright red & literally gushing out of me - I know, I know - but there is only one way to describe SCH's. . . . so luckily my Mom was available to take me to the ER - where a doctor from my OB practice was on-call &a they were fabulous and got me right back to a room & just as quickly over to the ultra sound technician.  She was immediately able to show me my healthy baby swimming & flipping around, completely oblivious to my personal hell I'd been in since earlier that morning & she was able to identify that this was a new bleed - that the previous bleed had cleared up & this one was NO WHERE near where the baby was implanted or where the placenta was attached - which are both wonderful things.  After several dozen measurements & pictures were taken for the doctor to review we were brought back to the room, shortly thereafter we were released and I was on strict bedrest until the red bleeding had stopped & then back to modified bed rest until two weeks after the last time any material (blood or clots) are passed - I'm still waiting for that to happen!

The New Norm
SO - here I sit a week after one of the most terrifying days of any pregnancy, and so far so good.  I'm still dealing with passing reminants of the last episode but hoping and praying multiple times a day everyday, that the was the last I will have to deal with this.  They say that most of these SCH's tend to clear up by 20 weeks (come on the next 6 weeks!!) and I am praying mine will follow suite!
I am now going on my fifth (yes 5th) week of modified bed rest which with an active 3.5 & 2 year old is NEXT to impossible!!  Among other things I am not supposed to pick my children up (I interpret this as do not hold them, I mean how is a 2 year old supposed to get in his crib?!) I am not to carry a full laundry basket, push a vacuum, sweep or mop (I know, I know you are thinking this sounds like a dream, but after about one week it is a NIGHTMARE!!) and am supposed to keep my feet up as much as possible and drink just shy of a barrel full of water every single day!!  But if this is what I have to do to keep the baby healthy and safe, then well this is what I have to do!

A Dear Friend
As you can imagine bedrest & a clean house do NOT go hand in hand - and although Dave does help, he is also gone to work 12 hours a day and men & women have different styles & definitions of clean - I'll just leave it at that!  But just as I was starting to have an anxiety attack over the fact that there were dust bunnies under the coffee tables & the floors needed mopping my friend Vickie & her mother came over and whipped my first floor into shape!  This is where we spend most all of our time so you can imagine what 5 weeks of neglect look like. . . . that is until my little cleaning fairies came in and made it sparkle and shine!  I'm just gonna say that if you are the friends you keep - then these two are KEEPERS!!  AND it doesn't hurt they both share a slight OCD on cleanliness - they had the laundry finished (I got to fold!), the refrigerator cleaned out, the counters & cabinets wiped off, the floors swept and mopped & the powder room scrubbed in under three hours!!  Not to mention they brought me and the boys fresh homemade sausage biscuits & fixed us lunch before they left!  I was Queen for the day!!

As Promised. . . The Pictures!!

I realize that seeing the baby in the black and white cloudiness is somewhat of an art, and it is SO much easier if you are there in person watching the baby move around in real life when they save the screen as a picture, but I will do my best to help you see Tinker Bell in each of the ultra sound scans!
Here's Tinker Bell at 8 weeks - still not too human looking.

This is one week later after my first small clot/bleed.
Tinker Bell is 9 weeks.

This is the following week after first gushing bleed.
Tinker Bell is around 10 weeks
If you look close at the top right corner of the sac there is a dark spot, I believe that is the bleed

These are images from my N/T scan almost 2 weeks later.  Tinker Bell is 12 weeks.
The top two pictures are profile pictures, it's kinda hard to tell from these pictures but the profile is ADORABLE!
The bottom left is a hand with thumb extended, (thumbs up Mom!) and the bottom right is the side view of entire baby - on left of  the slide baby has hands up by face then you see torso, the bottom and legs bent up into the right top corner.

And although they took tons of pictures at the ER after the biggest (and scariest) bleed, they kept them all in my digital medical file - which I was hoping I could access from home- but no dice!  So my next ultra sound will be at the end of July when we go for the big anatomy scan.  I am of course excited to see the baby again, obviously can't wait to learn the sex, but most importantly I am thrilled to be doing this scan with  my Perinatologist, who uses a 2nd degree ultra sound machine, which gives us more detail so we will be able to thoroughly examine the baby's heart, it's four chambers and their respective septums and valves and check out the diaphragm.  Knowledge is power you know and although I am a huge fan of surprises - that (referring to Pierce's diagnosis on birthday) is one surprise I could live the rest of my life without EVER doing again!!
